Palestinian BDS National Committee Statement on the right of peoples to Self-Determination:

Letter to our partners and friends in Catalonia,

In response to your inquiry about the Palestinian BDS National Committee’s position on self determination, here it is:

The people of Palestine, having suffered under Israel’s regime of occupation, settler-colonialism and apartheid for decades, and having been denied its inalienable right to self determination, strongly supports the universal right to self determination.

Self-determination is a core principle of international law, arising from customary international law. Recognized as a general principle of law, it is also enshrined in a number of international treaties, in the United Nations Charter and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights as a right of “all peoples”.
